A quick way to enjoy your bread without waiting and rising the dough by making this No Yeast Braided Savory Bread.
This is a wonderful recipe for a yeast free bread using few simple ingredients you already have in your pantry. No Yeast Braided Savory Bread is very versatile and so easy to make.
Since my family requested for a savory filling, I used curried green peas and potato. You can vary the stuffing depending on your preference either sweet or savory.
Turn this bread into whatever shape you prefer - a regular or decorative one.
I love this No Yeast Braided Bread very much, it is very easy to work with, retain its shape and bake beautifully.

NO YEAST BRAIDED SAVORY BREAD RECIPE
Yield : 2 loaves
- 2 cup all purpose flour
- 3 tablespoon cooking oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 cup warm milk
Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl.
Add in oil and milk gradually to form into soft dough. Keep for 15 minutes.
Now add the potato, salt and water ( water level should be above the potato), bring to boil and simmer until potato turns soft, stirring occasionally to avoid sticking to the bottom of the pan.
Add in green peas, garam masala , curry leaves and salt if needed, stir well.
METHOD FOR SHAPING THE BREAD
Punch dough down, divide into 2. Roll out dough into rectangle on lightly floured surface, cut both sides into 1 in strip.
Place the filling in the center of the dough. Flip the strips alternately, transfer onto baking sheet. Brush tops with milk or egg wash. Preheat oven @ 180 C.
Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven, brush tops with butter and transfer onto rack to cool.
