If you are in a hurry to make naan at home, this No Yeast Naan comes handy, it is simple and quick. No need to wait for it to rise.
Whisk plain flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in a mixing bowl. Add in yogurt and oil, gradually add water to form into pliable dough. Let this rest for 30 minutes.
No Yeast Naan can be topped with nigella seeds, sesame seeds, chopped garlic or coriander but this time I have made it plain without toppings. Press them well on the surface of naan so it sticks.
Fry them on stove top using cast iron pan until both side turn light brown.

NO YEAST NAAN RECIPE
Yield 4
2.5 cups plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup yogurt
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon oil
TOPPINGS, Choose one
Nigella seeds
Sesame seeds
Chopped garlic
Chopped coriander leaves
1 tablespoon ghee/butter melted to serve
DIRECTIONS
Combine dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix in yogurt and oil, gradually add water to form into soft dough. Knead until smooth for 7-10 minutes. Let sit for 30 minutes in a greased and covered bowl. Divide dough into 4, roll out each into teardrop shape. Sprinkle with chosen topping, press into the surface of the naan. Heat cast iron pan or non stick pan over medium heat until hot, fry each until air pocket forms then flip and cook until lightly browned. Remove and brush with ghee/butter.
